Thoughts at 1am
I never thought I'd be one of those people who wrote a blog. But here I am at 1:30am making updates to the website, getting some P&L's out of the way and thought I might as well put this blog thing into action. You know, it could be that most people don't know what it is I do, and clients definitely don't know. They have no idea that while they sleep or vacay wherever they jetset off to, that still behind the scenes burning the midnight oil is me getting their work done. No, I don't have a topic, category, or even a clue as to what this will turn into or out to be. But for now, my mind is on why this website is now under construction. Changing the structure and ownership of a business is not only stressfull for the owner, but doubly as stressful for the clients. They are left in a world of unknown, when they're supposed to be looking to us for the known. But I had a call from a lady yesterday that asked a very good question: In my opinion, what should a client be looking for when looking for an accountant. Man...that was a great question!! So as I asnswered it, I kept making sure that the original reason for her call (which by the way was mistakenly looking for the partner that I no longer am partner's with) stayed at the forefront of her mind even if she was extremely happy with my answers. But that's the way the world should work...the natural order of things. Even though the partnership dissolved, the client's best interest still always comes first. But I've got work to do so...
